Ski area

Murau / Kreischberg

868m - 2118m, 42 Km

After the new ski run had opened in December 2012, Styria’s first 10-person gondola lift of 2.1 km started it operation in December 2013.

This modern lift carries it passengers from an elevation of 1600 m to 2050 m. From the Bergstation, skiers can easily and comfortably reach the Rosenkranz summit or the popular lift known as the Sixpack.

The total costs of the investment (including the snow cannon system and the two new snow groomers) amounted to EUR 9 million.

The Kreischberg ski resort is extremely popular with skiers and snowboarders. The well-maintained ski runs of altogether42 km that are snow-sure from December to April meet every need of the devoted enthusiasts of winter sports.

The resort operates 48 modern snow cannons that guarantee perfect snow conditions each day of the ski season.

Kreischberg is ideal for family ski holidays. The whole family can ski together on the wide blue runs, and children will enjoy our wide variety of winter attractions, including a two-level learning track with magic carpet for the youngest beginners or the famous Dinopark and Yabba-Dabba-Doo Land which offer a great number of forest tracks - a truly unforgettable adventure for the kids.

Kreischberg is ideal for skiers, both beginners and pros. Winter sport enthusiasts will appreciate our tubing arena, speed run, wave run, trampoline, permanent race course with a timing system, free ride run, mogul skiing facility, a slope for powder skiing and a 2.5-km ski running course.

Kreischberg is also known as the paradise of snowboarders. The resort features a natural halfpipe, a snowboard park and a wildly romantic off-piste area. This is why Kreischberg is the venue for the annual Hungarian Snowboard Championship where the best Hungarian snowboarders, also regulars at international contests, may compete with each other and the champions of other nations. Kreischberg also won the right to host the 2015 Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championship.

Intermediate and advanced skiers will be pleased to try their skills on the red and black runs starting from the Rosenkranz summit (2118 m) or in the areas with fresh snow.

In addition to the new 10-person gondola, the ski resort is served by a 6-person gondola, four chairlifts, three T-bar lifts and a button lift.
